In order to answer your original question, it takes about 4-4.5 hours to drive from Jerusalem to Eilat, via the Dead Sea, if you don't stop along the way. It takes about 1/2 an hour longer if you drive from Jerusalem via routes 1 to 3 to 6 to 40 (which sounds more complicated, but actually isn't, and has much better roads).
Answer 1 of 3: I know the 'is it safe' question gets thrown around all the time and I've viewed quiet a bit over the years, but specifically I'd like to know if there are any issues with renting a car from Tel Aviv and doing a two day road trip. My
Israel borders Lebanon in the north, Syria in north-east, Jordan in the east, and Egypt in the south. The entire western border of Israel is the Mediterranean Coast. Fun fact: the most natural (and peaceful) border of Israel is with the Kingdom of Jordan. It runs along the Jordan River, then along the Dead Sea and moves onto the Arava Valley

Walk 1500m to the Eilat border crossing. Pay the 105 shekel Israeli departure tax and cross the border into Jordan. Pay the 40JD visa fee and go through the security checks in Jordan. Take a cab to Aqaba (10JD) or a bus onwards to your next destination.

The areas that are in danger from rockets are typically the 20 mile radius around Gaza. Haifa, Tel Aviv, Eilat, etc almost never have rocket issues. On the other hand, being in the US as a woman I feel a lot less safe than I did in Israel. Heck just going to school in the US feels not safe due to the sheer amount of school shooters per year.
Yes, it is safe, road conditions are fine - as to the heat - all cars have air conditioning and you should always make sure to have plenty of water with you and to drink much more than you think you need. Report inappropriate content. VisitIsrael.
