The L86 engine is rated at 420 hp. and 460 lb./ft. of torque. The L86's compression ratio is 11.0 to 1. Both incorporate GM's AFM system.

Location Mission Viejo, CA. Posts: 220. 6th gen ss 1le vs 5th gen z28. Both modded with higher hp, but stock brakes and suspension. Same tires. Same track. Z did a 1:47.3 and was beating up on zl1 1le's, SS was very fast at 1:48.66. Z has 606 rwhp, SS has 540. Laps done at Auto club speedway in California.
